CANTEEN MARTINI
The canteen in Martinipark is being transformed into an open, inviting space that reflects the character of the district and creates room for encounters, exchange, and coming together. The distinctive atmosphere of Martinipark shaped by its industrial past and its close connection to nature is carried into the interior and made tangible in the spatial experience. The interiors are defined by high ceilings, a striking vaulted ceiling, and industrial steel columns, which are integrated into the new design as key features and deliberately emphasized.
Natural colors and a reduced, clear design language echo the openness of the site and translate it into a contemporary interior architecture. A carefully coordinated lighting and acoustic concept creates a pleasant, calm atmosphere, while a flexible spatial structure allows for a variety of uses. In addition to daily canteen operations, the space is designed to offer a high quality of stay inviting yet consciously understated. The minimalist, timeless design provides a neutral base, allowing the canteen to be equally suitable for events, celebrations, weddings, or corporate functions. The result is a versatile place open, adaptable, and harmoniously embedded in the identity of Martinipark carrying forward the industrial charm of the existing structure in a modern way.
Terracotta philosophically represents grounding, warmth, and the immediate force of life. It evokes associations with fire, closeness, and the physical presence of the moment. Psychologically, terracotta has a stimulating effect: it draws attention, encourages vitality, and gives spaces a sensual, inviting depth. In restaurant design, terracotta creates a warm, enveloping atmosphere. It makes spaces feel cozy, lively, and sociable. Guests feel at ease yet gently energized, subconsciously associating the setting with enjoyment, abundance, and a sense of togetherness. Subtle red or earthy accents can stimulate the appetite and lend the space a rich, distinctive character.
